MARK TITUS – Thursday, 10/11 at 7:30 PM, HPER Auditorium

Posted: October 10, 2012 by IUsec in Events

This Thursday at 7:30 PM in the HPER Auditorium, the Sport Communication Club and the IU Sport Program are pleased to welcome sports author, humorist, and commentator Mark Titus.

Titus, a native of Brownsburg, Indiana, has been called the “nation’s most famous benchwarmer” thanks to his work on his blog, Club Trillion, a site that focused on Titus’ status as a little-used reserve on Ohio State’s top-rated basketball team. Following his graduation from Ohio State, Titus joined ESPN Insider as a college basketball writer. Prior to the 2011-12 season, Titus began contributing to ESPN’s, providing commentary on college basketball.

Titus’ most recent accomplishment is the publication of his book, entitled “Don’t Put Me In, Coach: My Incredible Journey from the End of the Bench to the End of the Bench.” The book, released in March of 2012, garnered many positive reviews, including the New York Times dubbing the book as “nothing less than a modern-day basketball version of Ball Four, a terrific look behind the locker room door, funny and profane and real.” Titus’ “Mr. Rainmaker” video has received over 470,000 views on YouTube.
