Jo Anne Morris Murphy Scholarship now available

Applications are now available for The Jo Anne Morris Murphy Scholarship.  The scholarship will be awarded to a student majoring in Telecommunications with preference given to a junior or senior female student (who has a semester ahead of her or is enrolling in a summer session) who has been offered and intends to accept an internship in New York City. The $1000 may be awarded to one student or split into two awards of $500 each.

Deadline for applications is Friday, March 24, 2012, at 4:00 p.m.  LATE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.  Please see the application forms for eligibility requirements and further details.

Description of the scholarship:

 Jo Anne Morris Murphy, BA 1958, was one of the first women to graduate with a major in Radio and TV (now the Department of Telecommunications) and the first RTV major to be inducted into Phi Beta Kappa.  She is a native of New York City and built her career in public relations there.  The Jo Anne Morris Murphy Scholarship will be awarded to a student majoring in Telecommunications with preference given to a junior or senior female student who has been offered and intends to accept an internship in New York City. The $1000 may be awarded to one student or split into two awards of $500 each.
