Adult bilingual speakers, who fluently speak English and Korean or English and Spanish, between the ages of 18 and 35, are needed for a study on the perception of foreign-accented speech. Participants must have started studying English at the age of 10 or older and arrived in the United States at the age of 18 or older. Participants must have normal speech and hearing. The experiment takes one session lasting 60 – 120 minutes and will be held in the Speech and Hearing Sciences building. Participants will listen to speech and type in what they hear, arrange icons on a screen, and/or make judgments about speech samples. Additionally, participants will fill out a language background questionnaire and will have their hearing screened. Participants will be paid $10 per hour. Contact Tessa Bent at for more information.
