Indianapolis Motor Speedway (IMS) Productions – summer internships

Posted: January 19, 2012 by IUsec in Internships

IMS Productions is a full service field and post production house located across from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Summer internships begin at a very busy time just as the month of May is starting, and the first weeks of the intern experience are spent supporting a lot of field production at the Speedway for the Indianapolis 500, as well as post-edit work and studio shoots at our facility. Over the course of the summer, interns will be asked to work in some capacity in all phases of our operation.

Our primary post-production workflow is AVID Media Composer, and while we don’t require interns to have edited on an AVID system, by the end of the summer interns will have a working knowledge of the Editor and our media storage and video database.  In the past, interns have worked on field and studio shoots in a variety of capacities, and have also had the opportunity to work with our mobile truck division if our HD trucks have a show in town.  We also have an audio recording studio and Pro Tools audio editing.

While we have a lot to offer a student in terms of skills acquisition,  we do expect a strong academic production background and career interest from our intern candidates.  As mentioned earlier, this internship starts off in high gear and history has taught us that potential interns need a certain baseline of understanding and experience to thrive in this challenging environment.  We highly recommend students get to know us better through our website at

Resumes and intro emails should be sent to Brian Annakin ( ) and Steve Stiles ( ) by March 1st, 2012.
