Vietnam-Documentaries Summer 2012 Overseas Study Course T436 Credit

 Program Organization

opportunity to produce short documentary programs during an intensive two-week trip throughout Vietnam. Themes will include Vietnamese art, culture and history of the Vietnam War.

 



 

Those interested in documentary, digital media, or content areas of art or history are encouraged to apply.

 

Program Schedule:

  • Introductory lectures and preproduction activities May 28 to June 1 in Bloomington
  • Tentative travel dates of June 3-17 (Hanoi, Hue, Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City)

Academic Program

  • 3 IU credits (TEL-T 436, Advanced Production Workshop)
  • After one week of introductory lectures, discussion, preproduction activities, and orientation, class will depart for Vietnam.
  • In Vietnam, class will meet daily with an intensive schedule of lectures, field trips and video shooting experiences.
  • Development and production of short documentary film stories and online video blogs

Complete eligibility criteria and selection criteria are outlined within the Academic Policies and Procedures of the Office of Overseas Study. 

Application deadline in mid-February. This will be a small class of 12 students.
