Scholarships/Fellowships for TCOM Students now available

Applications are now available for scholarships and/or fellowships, ranging from $500 to $1500, for Telecommunications students enrolled at IU for Spring 2012. 

 Application forms and descriptions of each scholarship/fellowship are available at the Department of Telecommunications web site,  http://www.indiana.edu/~telecom/index.shtml

Deadline for application is Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at 4:00 p.m.  LATE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.  Awards will be recognized at the MultiVisions conference next semester.  Please see the application forms for eligibility requirements and further details.

Brief descriptions of scholarships and fellowships:

The Donald E. Agostino Memorial Scholarship is presented to a junior or senior Telecommunications major who is outstanding as a scholar, exhibits curiosity for learning across a wide range of interests and has participated in leadership and service opportunities while attending IU.

The LeRoy Bannerman Scholarship is presented to one or more Telecommunications majors with an interest in innovative audio techniques who have a record of academic excellence.

The Tom and Jay Darragh Conference Support Scholarship/Fellowship supports undergraduate or graduate students in the Department of Telecommunications to attend an industry trade show, conference, and/or to present research at a professional conference.  Preference will be given to students pursuing an interest in Telecommunications management or Telecommunications policy.

Lee Norvelle Scholarship/Fellowship $1500 is presented to one or more undergraduate or graduate students in the Department of Telecommunications.

 The Donald Abbott Rushton Memorial Scholarship is for one or more undergraduate students in the Department of Telecommunications.  Preference will be given to students focusing on program directing. 

The Jack Sheehan Memorial Scholarship is for one or more undergraduate students enrolled in the Department of Telecommunications who have an interest in radio and television and have demonstrated imagination, artistic integrity, and creativity.

The Jennifer Byrne Shull Scholarship/Fellowship is presented to one or more undergraduate or graduate students in the Department of Telecommunications. Preference will be given to students who have demonstrated high academic merit and financial need.
