ZOMBIE WALK NATION

September 24th Franklin Indiana 10:30 AM

Franklin, Indiana—   With the end of summer just around the corner, small quaint Franklin Indiana is scheduled to have a zombie infestation during this year’s B Movie Celebration. The B Movie Celebration in its Fifth year in Franklin is a Celebration of low budget and exploitation filmmaking and this year is a mecca for all Hoosier based Zombies.

Entitled “Zombie Walk Nation” this is an attempt to bring the Zombie Walk phenomenon to this normally quiet Mid West town. The record for participants in a Zombiue Walk is currently held by Seattle’s Red, White and Dead Walk. This year 4500 zombies of all shapes and sizes took part.

The walk begins at 11:00 AM, with participants gathering at The Historic Artcraft Theatre in Franklin. 57 N Main St, Franklin, IN  and all participants should show up in their best zombie costume.

A zombie walk is an organized public gathering of two or more people who dress up in zombie costumes and make up. Usually taking place in an urban centre, the participants make their way around the city streets and through shopping malls in a somewhat orderly fashion and often limping and gnawing their way towards a local cemetery (or movie theater).

During the event participants are encouraged to remain in character as zombies and to communicate only in a manner consistent with zombies (such as grunts, groans and slurred moans calling for “brains”.)

The main objectives of any zombie walk are to 1) give the participants a fun, safe event and 2) to collect money for a local charity.

The Zombie Walk Nation route is approximately 1 mile in length and makes a bloody path through downtown Franklin. Costume judging and prizes will be given out at the conclusion of the walk. Hope to see you there Saturday September 24th, 10:30 AM at the Historic Artcraft Theatre 57 North Main Street Franklin.
