Scholarships, IW Essay Prize, Senior scholarship Competition, William G. Bray Memorial Scholarship

Scholarships: Many of the College’s spring scholarship competitions are now open or will be very soon. Additional information is available on the College’s Scholarship and Awards page at: All materials for these competitions must be received in Undergraduate Academic Affairs (KH012) by 4:00 p.m. on Friday, March 4, 2011.

 Intensive Writing Essay Prize (Up to six awards of $150 each) – Students who took IW courses in Summer or Fall 2010, or who are currently enrolled in IW courses may submit essays. 

 Palmer-Brandon Prize in the Humanities (Up to two awards of $20,000 each) –  Competition for third- year students with junior standing in specific departments in the humanities (see website for complete list); students are expected to have a minimum College GPA of 3.750 and to be in the top 1% of undergraduates in their fields for this award.

 Senior Scholarship Competition (approx. 20 scholarships/awards; amounts vary) – Competition for rising seniors (all majors/disciplines) with a minimum College GPA of 3.700. Students must plan to graduate in May/August 2012. By submitting one application, students are considered for all of the scholarships for which they are eligible. Some awards have very specific restrictions and it is a challenge to award them each year. Please especially encourage your outstanding students with the following characteristics to apply: majors in the physical sciences (AST, CHEM, BSES, GEOG, GEOL, PHYS), graduates of Anderson High School in Anderson, IN, and students from Clay (or contiguous) county.

William G. Bray Memorial Scholarship: (2 to 3 awards of $500-$700) – For College students in History and Political Science and Kelley School of Business Students in Operations and Decision Technologies with minimum 3.750 GPA.
