Hoosiers Outrun Cancer Post-race Activities

Unique to Bloomington and its innovative hospital, the Olcott Center for Cancer Education is completely supported by the community. Their main source of funding is the annual Hoosiers Outrun Cancer event. In addition to the 5K run, there is a 5K walk, 1-Mile Kids Run, a 1-mile Family Fun Walk and tons-of-fun for the entire family.

Duties: The City of Bloomington Parks and Recreation Department supports the cause by offering children’s activities throughout the event. Volunteers will help facilitate arts and crafts, hula hoop contest, basketball shootout and obstacle course. Put on your gym shoes and show your support for cancer education and research.

Program Time:  8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

Training: Volunteers will be trained at the beginning of their shift.

Location: Indiana University Memorial Stadium-south end

Age of Volunteers: 16 yrs. and up

Number of Volunteers: 10
